Art made of wool

The task for Ahda was to open up small rooms and create a large, well-lit space for celebrations and memorials in the building next to the main church room. The wooden construction, windows, and walls in the original architecture are strong visual elements that the architect wanted to showcase in the new interior design.

Soundabsorption

To enhance the acoustics in the room, the original walls are upholstered with woolfelt from flokk & fjell. The design features a custom wool art piece referencing the biblical creation story. Each piece tells a part of the creation narrative, from the world being empty and dark to all life on the seventh day.

Abstract

Everything we know and understand has a beginning and an end. The details vary in everyone's life, celebration, or memorial. The observer is allowed and invited to experience the art piece in their own way.

Details

Details that show pure nature. Each strand of wool, a living testament to the earth's vibrant tapestry, intertwines with plant-derived colors, echoing the rhythms of the seasons.
